Norma climbed down off her horse and as she walked Missie on the trail back to the staging area, she sadly made the decision to sell her. Joyce happened to be walking on the same trail as Norma, but in the opposite direction. They passed by each other and Joyce could see from Norma’s body language that things weren’t going well between the horse and rider. “Having trouble?” Joyce asked. “She’s goin’ down the road,” Norma replied. Joyce thought, “I could help that woman if she were to attend one of my clinics.” Later, Norma was at the Jackson County Fairgrounds and saw one of Joyce’s flyers and signed up for the next clinic, hoping for one last attempt at establishing the relationship with Missie she’d wanted all along. The Natural Horsemanship clinic was just what Norma needed. She says she is, “...now looking forward to being partners with Missie for many years to come.” Norma gained valuable lessons and techniques in Joyce’s clinic that turned her relationship with Missie into one of mutual trust and respect. Norma says, “Joyce is a pro with horse sense and heart.” March 27, 2005 My other mare I've started (about 4 days now) is a little bit harder than Jewel was. I swear she hated me the first couple of days. She's “first mare” in the pasture, been a brood mare for the past 5 years and hasn't been messed with much during that time. You said these are hard ones. She's very challenging but my hopes are high for her. Thank you again for giving me the skills to make all of
my horses "perfect horses"..........Joetta Orr (Fallon, NV) |
